Our Journey
The Formula Band was born in 1972 and is rooted in Buffalo’s west side, a thriving Italian immigrant community. Over the years, we gained national recognition and had the privilege of performing alongside renowned artists such as Jerry Vale, Pat Cooper, Ricchi e Poveri, Romeo Livieri, and more recently, Angelo Avarello. As we evolved musically, we embraced a diverse range of sounds, showcasing a powerful, spicy, and highly entertaining live act. Decades later, we continue to bring passion and energy to every performance.
Our Band Members
Dino Falletta is a founding member and guitarist of The Formula Band. His instruments of choice include the Fender Stratocaster, Gibson Les Paul, and Ovation acoustic/electric. Dino shares lead vocals with longtime friend and bandmate Tommy Trigilio, performing in Italian, English, and Spanish, which gives The Formula Band a distinct European flair. Prior to his guitar journey, Dino played the clarinet in a traveling group in Italy, marking the beginning of his incredible musical journey.
Joe Perilli is the newest addition to The Formula Band. He joined the band in 2019, replacing the longtime bassist John Bertini. With extensive experience in studio recording and live performance, Joe’s expertise on the Fender Precision bass quickly became a seamless fit for the group.
Thomas "Tommy" Trigilio is the keyboardist and vocalist for The Formula Band, known for using the Korg Kronos 88 and Roland Fantom G to deliver the band’s signature CD-quality live sound. A passionate collector of vintage keyboards, Tommy also shares lead vocals with Dino, singing in both English and Italian. His deep connection with Dino and his technical skills have helped shape The Formula Band’s distinctive sound, resonating with audiences across generations.
Daniel Mink is The Formula Band’s drummer and percussionist. A top talent from the Buffalo area, Daniel is known for his mastery of Latin-inspired beats, which he creates using his customized Jazz kit, complemented by shakers, cowbells, timbales, and other percussion instruments. Daniel’s rhythmic versatility is the heartbeat of The Formula Band, infusing every performance with an irresistible energy that keeps audiences dancing.
